Border formalities

  • Passengers are responsible for complying with border formalities.
  • The Company is not responsible in the event that the passenger is not allowed to embark at the point of origin or to disembark at the port of destination due to lack of the necessary documents including Visas or non-observance of formalities by the passenger.
  • Please note that driver’s license is not a correct identification document for international travelling and will not be accepted.
  • In such instances the passenger shall compensate The Company for any eventual damages and expenses including the issuance of a return ticket, if this is applicable.

Schengen Countries: Austria, Belgium, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Iceland, Italy, Latvia, Liechtenstein, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden & Switzerland

A valid visa is required to enter in SCHENGEN ZONE. A passenger requiring a Visa for Italy may have following options to enter without a visa.

A. “PERMESSO DI SOGGIORNO”: The passenger may have a copy of a valid permesso di soggiorno and is allowed to enter Italy without a Schengen visa. Should the permesso be expired, they need to have a copy of the expired document and a receipt of “Poste Italiane”.

B. PERMANENT RESIDENCE: Should the passenger have a permanent residence in any Schengen country this will automatically omit the requirement to have a Schengen Visa.

C. VISA TYPE D:  Passengers having Visa type D for any Schengen country are allowed to enter in Italy without Visa.

(1) Passenger with BIOMETRICAL PASSPORT issued in Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Georgia, North Macedonia, Moldova, Montenegro, Serbia and Ukraine  are allowed to enter in Italy without Visa (biometrical passport is passport with microchip inside).

IMPORTANT: Please note that passengers with biometric passport issued by  “KOORDINACIONA UPREVA” require a visa to enter in Italy.
IMPORTANT: Passengers in possession of a Serbian passport issued in“BEOGRAD- SERBIA” but with residence in Kosovo need Visa to enter Italy even if passport is biometric.

(2) Passengers with passport issued in the Special administrative regions of the people’s republic of China, Hong Kong and Macao do not require a Visa for Italy.

(3) Passengers with passport issued in Taiwan which includes the number of identity card on the passport do not need a visa to enter Italy.

VISA FOR CROATIA: It is very important that the visa is multiple or double entry. If it is a single entry a passenger cannot travel to Venice on a day trip, because the passenger will not have a permission to re-enter Croatia in the evening.

VERY IMPORTANT: Passengers who require a visa for Croatia can use either of the following instead of a Croatian visa:

  • Schengen residence permit- issued by one of the Schengen area member states.
  • Schengen visa type c- for two or multiple entries, valid for all schengen area member states.
  • Long-stay Schengen visa type d- for stays exceeding three months, issued by one of the Schengen area member states.
  • Visa with limited territorial validity (ltv visa) – for two or multiple entries.
  • Nationals of Kosovo, holders of ltv visa- valid for all Schengen countries except for Spain.
  • National visas and residence permits of Bulgaria, Cyprus and Romania – visas for two or multiple entries.

Holders of the above mentioned Schengen documents do not require an additional (Croatian) visa for transit through or intended stays in the territory of Croatia not exceeding 90 days in any 180-day period, as from 01.01.2014 until Croatia fully applies the provisions of the Schengen acquis.

The period of validity of the above mentioned Schengen documents shall cover the duration of the transit or stay.

(4) Passengers with biometrical passport issued in Bosnia and Herzegovina, Moldova, Georgia and Ukraine do not require a visa to enter Croatia.

(5) Passengers with a passport issued in the special administrative regions of the people’s Republic of China, Hong Kong and Macao do not require a visa for business, tourist or personal visits to Croatia that do not exceed 90 days.

(6) Passengers with passport issued in Taiwan which include the identity card number, do not require a visa to enter Croatia.

(7) Serbian Citizens with passport issued by Serbian Coordination Directorate require a visa to enter Croatia.
